Wow…his true colors really have come to light in a big way post sexual assault revelations haven’t they? It used to pay for him to be “woke” so he was, now it doesn’t, and the only people who would accept him aren’t, so he isn’t.
So, saying this As A White Person - one of the things I wish we could take away from this as a lesson is that white people shouldn’t be looking to other straight white men, for our “wokeness”. Because at best, it’s often filtered through the lens of their experience, and at worst, it’s performative bullshit.
If there’s any 2019 resolution we should be making, it should be leaning into media that makes us question our white privilege more. Let’s go listen to PoC, women, LGBTQIA+ and other creators.
People like Roseanne and Louis CK are a lesson in how you can redpill yourself into being a right-wing hateful bigot by getting to a place where you don’t question your own mistakes, your own behavior, your own morals on the regular. Doubly-so when you get older and decide that somehow, you’re done learning - that seems to be when the rot creeps in.
I’m fourty-fucking-five years old, and I damn well do my best to stay connected to what people half my age are saying and doing because there’s this point where, when we decide we’re done learning, we just turn into this echo chamber. And that’s when that sneering divide comes along that right-wing hate-media loves to exploit.

Louis CK asked people he worked with to watch him touch his sick but people asking to be called “them” is where he draws the line? Cool.
